Navigating AI: AI Agent Summit, Super Bowl Fumbles and more

Thank you for your nominations to the AI Trailblazers Power 100 list, which we’re curating in partnership with ADWEEK. More on it soon.

We’re also excited to announce our partnership with HumanX to bring the AI community together for the AI Trailblazers Agents Summit on March 13 at the Fontainebleau, Las Vegas. This exclusive half-day summit will convene top industry leaders to explore the future of AI Agents, their impact on business, and the cutting-edge innovations shaping the landscape.

In this newsletter edition, and ahead of the AI Trailblazers Agents Summit, we take a deeper dive in agentic AI and how their adoption will be swift in the coming years. We also explore the pros and cons of a world of transforming photos into videos with the help of technology such as OmniHuman. Finally, another Google AI ad is in the news for yet another fumble. Enjoy!

From Assistants to Decision-Makers: How AI is Changing the Game

Agentic AI is set to revolutionize the business landscape in 2025, moving beyond content generation to autonomous decision-making and action. Unlike traditional AI, these intelligent systems can reason, adapt, and collaborate, allowing companies to streamline operations and optimize efficiency. As industries from healthcare to finance embrace agentic AI, businesses must balance innovation with ethical oversight and regulatory compliance. As Forbes explores, those who successfully integrate these advanced AI agents—like Walmart and WebWork AI—stand to gain a major competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving AI era.

  • The Rise of Agentic AI in 2025
Agentic AI is emerging as a powerful evolution beyond generative AI, allowing systems to reason, adapt, and take action autonomously. Deloitte predicts that 25% of companies using generative AI will launch agentic AI pilots in 2025, growing to 50% by 2027. This shift is driven by the need for AI that integrates with unique business data rather than just generating content.

  • From Assistants to Decision-Makers
Unlike traditional AI, agentic AI operates independently, making real-time decisions and solving complex problems. Companies like WebWork AI and Fairmarkit are already deploying agentic AI to optimize productivity, procurement, and workflow automation. Businesses are moving beyond simple automation to AI-driven networks where multiple agents collaborate to execute tasks with minimal human input.

  • AI as a Smart Assistant, Not a Replacement
Experts stress that AI should enhance human capabilities rather than replace them, ensuring ethical oversight and bias detection. Past AI failures, like iTutor Group’s age-based discrimination, highlight the importance of transparency and control. Companies investing in agentic AI are focusing on responsible deployment, keeping humans in the loop for final decision-making.

  • Industry Disruption and Regulatory Challenges
Agentic AI is transforming industries from healthcare to finance, with applications in diagnostics, fraud detection, and autonomous trading. However, its rapid growth raises regulatory concerns, pushing governments and companies to develop ethical AI governance frameworks. As AI begins making corporate decisions, businesses that successfully integrate it—like Walmart in inventory management—will gain a significant competitive edge.

AI Trailblazer Takeaways: Agentic AI will revolutionize the way we work. How is your organization preparing to capitalize on this new tech? The ramifications for not adopting AI agents quickly may prove fatal for many organizations from competitors who do.

AI Magic or Misinformation? OmniHuman Raises Excitement—And Concerns

Forbes also delves into how ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has unveiled OmniHuman, a groundbreaking AI tool that can create lifelike videos from a single photo. Capable of generating realistic gestures, expressions, and movements, the technology has the potential to transform content creation across industries. While its applications in entertainment, education, and digital media are exciting, experts warn of the risks associated with deepfakes and misinformation. As AI-generated videos become more sophisticated, the debate over ethical use and data privacy is more relevant than ever.

  • Breakthrough AI Video Generation
ByteDance has introduced OmniHuman, an AI model capable of generating highly realistic videos from a single photo. The tool can animate people, animals, and even historical figures with lifelike gestures and expressions. Early demonstrations show its potential to revolutionize content creation across entertainment, education, and social media.

  • A Leap in AI-Powered Content
Unlike previous AI video tools, OmniHuman excels in generating fluid, natural motion from weak input signals like static images or audio. A sample video of Albert Einstein showcases remarkable realism, bringing past figures to life in a way that feels contemporary. Experts believe the tool could be used for virtual influencers, digital assistants, and even AI-generated educational content.

  • Deepfakes and Ethical Dilemmas
While the technology is impressive, concerns about misinformation and deepfakes are growing. AI-generated videos could be misused to create fake political endorsements or impersonate business leaders, influencing public perception. Experts stress the importance of safeguards and transparency to prevent ethical misuse of such advanced AI tools.

  • The Data Behind the Innovation
ByteDance trained OmniHuman using over 18,700 hours of human video data, refining its ability to replicate realistic motion. Some worry that TikTok users’ videos could be leveraged for AI training, although ByteDance denies using data from its platforms. If publicly released, OmniHuman is expected to include security measures to ensure ethical use and authenticity verification.

AI Trailblazer Takeaways: OmniHuman is a great example of the incredible potential of Gen AI for both good and evil. Imagine a world where people can make their photos come to life and relive moments gone by. At the same time, this very same technology can create complete fiction and create havoc forcing us into a world where video can no longer be relied on as a source of truth. A world where truth itself will be almost impossible to discover….and that should give all of us some pause.

Gouda Grief! Google’s AI Fumbles Big Game Commercial

Google faced an embarrassing AI misstep during its high-profile Super Bowl ad for Gemini, its leading AI tool. The BBC explores how ad falsely claimed that Gouda cheese accounts for 50-60% of global cheese consumption, a statistic quickly debunked by a blogger. In response, Google re-edited the commercial, blaming inaccurate web sources for the error. This incident adds to a growing list of AI-generated blunders, raising concerns about the reliability of AI in everyday applications.

  • Google's AI Ad Blunder: Google re-edited its Super Bowl ad for Gemini after falsely claiming that Gouda makes up 50-60% of global cheese consumption. A blogger pointed out the error, calling it "AI slop," which led to public scrutiny. Google blamed inaccurate web sources for the mistake but quickly removed the claim from the ad.

  • Damage Control in Action: The revised ad was uploaded to YouTube without the misleading cheese statistic. Google stated that it consulted the featured cheesemonger, who suggested removing the figure. The update aimed to reflect how real businesses would use AI without relying on incorrect data.

  • A History of AI Missteps: This isn't Google's first AI-related embarrassment—Gemini previously generated historically inaccurate images and provided bizarre search suggestions. In 2023, the AI search feature told users to use glue to make cheese stick to pizza. The latest error adds to growing concerns over the reliability of AI-generated content.

  • AI Under the Spotlight: The incident highlights the challenges tech giants face in ensuring AI accuracy, especially in high-profile settings like the Super Bowl. Other companies, including Apple, have also faced backlash for AI-generated misinformation. As AI tools become more integrated into daily life, pressure is mounting for better oversight and fact-checking.

AI Trailblazer Takeaways: Blunders in advertising! Given their recent history with advertising AI, you would think that Google would be checking every millisecond and every pixel for any ad they produce but clearly that is not happening. AI is prone to errors, especially in the early days which we are in, and those errors can prove costly. Best to keep a human set of eyes on any AI generated content in the short term or you too may find yourself in Google damage control.
